The T2100 Series Reconfiguration Guide tells you how to reinstall and set up basic programs, such as MS-DOS and Windows, that are pre-installed on your hard disk.
Your T2105 Series computer (T2105, T2105CS or T2105CT) comes with all of the same basic programs as the T2100 Series computer, along with several additional programs. This addendum describes how to reinstall these additional programs.
The additional programs are:
¨Lotus Organizer
¨ClarisWorks® 3.0
¨ClarisWorks Business and Home Templates
¨ClarisWorks User's Guide
¨Quicken® Special Edition
¨The Toshiba Discovery Center
You may reinstall these programs in any order. If you don't plan on using one of the programs included in this addendum, save some valuable hard disk space by leaving it uninstalled.
NOTE:If you're reinstalling everything on your hard disk, follow the steps in the T2100 Series Reconfiguration Guide before reinstalling any of the programs included in this addendum.
To reinstall Lotus Organizer, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled Lotus Organizer disk 1 of 3 into the diskette drive.
2Make sure Windows is running. If it isn't, type Win and press Enter to start it now.
3In Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
Windows opens the Run dialog box.
4Type a:\install and choose OK.
Program Manager starts the Lotus Installation Program.
5When the installation program asks you for information, press Enter to accept the default values.
6Change diskettes when the installation program asks you to do so.
The installation program asks if you want it to modify your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
7Press Enter to accept the modifications.
When the installation is complete, the installation program asks if you want to restart the computer.
8Press Enter to restart the computer with the new AUTOEXEC.BAT settings in effect.
To reinstall ClarisWorks 3.0, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled ClarisWorks Disk 1 of 6 into the diskette drive.
2Make sure Windows is running. If it isn't, type Win and press Enter to start it now.
3In Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
Windows opens the Run dialog box.
4Type a:\setup and choose OK.
Program Manager starts the Claris setup program.
5Press Enter to continue.
The setup program installs Microsoft Win32 and Freecell.
6When the setup program asks you for information, press Enter to accept the defaults.
7Once Win32 and Freecell are installed, press Enter to restart Windows and continue with the ClarisWorks installation.
8Insert the diskette labeled ClarisWorks Disk 2 of 6 into the diskette drive and press Enter.
9When the setup program asks you for information, press Enter to accept the defaults.
The setup program asks you to enter information about yourself.
10Type your name in the Name box.
11Press the tab key to highlight the Company Name box, type in the name of your company and press Enter.
12Change diskettes when the installation program asks you to do so.
13Choose OK when the setup process is complete.
To reinstall the ClarisWorks Business Template for ClarisWorks 3.0, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled ClarisWorks Business Templates into the diskette drive.
2At the system prompt, type xcopy a:\*.* c:\windows\claris /e and press Enter.
The computer copies the template files onto the hard disk and returns you to the system prompt.
To reinstall the ClarisWorks Home Template for ClarisWorks 3.0, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled ClarisWorks Business Templates into the diskette drive.
2At the system prompt, type xcopy a:\*.* c:\windows\claris\template and press Enter.
The computer copies the template files onto the hard disk and returns you to the system prompt.
To reinstall the ClarisWorks User's Guide, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled ClarisWorks Users Guide disk 1 of 2 into the diskette drive.
2Make sure Windows is running. If it isn't, type Win and press Enter to start it now.
3In Program Manager, choose ClarisWorks from the Window menu.
4In Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
Windows opens the Run dialog box.
5Type a:\install and choose OK.
Program Manager starts the installation Program.
6Choose OK to accept the default directory.
7Choose OK to confirm and continue.
8Choose OK to accept the diskette drive as the installation drive.
The installation program begins installing files.
9Change diskettes when the installation program asks you to do so.
10Choose OK to confirm that the installation is complete.
To reinstall Quicken Special Edition, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled Quicken SE disk 1 of 5 into the diskette drive.
2Make sure Windows is running. If it isn't, type Win and press Enter to start it now.
3In Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
Windows opens the Run dialog box.
4Type a:\install and choose OK.
Program Manager starts the installation Program.
5Choose Install to select Express Installation.
6Change diskettes when the installation program asks you to do so.
7Choose OK to confirm that the installation is complete.
To reinstall the Toshiba Discovery Center, follow these steps:
1Insert the diskette labeled Discovery Center into the diskette drive.
2Make sure Windows is running. If it isn't, type Win and press Enter to start it now.
3In Program Manager, choose Run from the File menu.
Windows opens the Run dialog box.
4Type a:\install and choose OK.
Program Manager starts the installation Program.
5Choose OK to accept the default directory.
6Choose OK to confirm your choice.
7Choose OK to accept the diskette drive as the installation drive.
The installation program begins installing files.
8Choose OK to confirm that the installation is complete.
If you want to remove and reinstall a program that's already on your hard disk, check the program's documentation first. The program may come with an uninstall program that deletes the files from your hard disk and removes associated commands from your configuration files, such as the AUTOEXEC.BAT and WIN.INI files.
If the program does not come with an uninstall program, it's a good idea to back up the program directories before you delete any files.
