Your Toshiba notebook computer comes with software preinstalled on the hard drive. In the event you need to reinstall your software, use the following information as a guide to reconfigure your computer with its original factory setup.
To reconfigure your computer, you must first transfer the original pre-installed software from your hard drive to blank diskettes using the Master Disk Creator (MDC) procedure introduced the first time you turned on your computer.
To run the Master Disk Creator program, from Microsoft® Windows™ click on the MDC icon in the Toshiba Utilities group; or, from MS-DOS® type C:\IMG\MDC. Please see your T1960C Series Reference Manual for more information on the Master Disk Creator.
If you did not create these diskettes, and are unable to do so now, please contact Toshiba Product Support at (800) 999-4273.
Use the MS-DOS Install Diskette you created with the MDC to start your computer.
1Place the MS-DOS Install Diskette in the floppy drive and reboot your computer by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del.
MS-DOS automatically installs on your hard drive while prompting you to change diskettes.
2When prompted for information, choose the default settings and let MS-DOS do the install.
MS-DOS tells you when the installation is complete.
The MS-DOS enhancements aid in the activation of your Toshiba computer's special features.
1Remove the diskette from the floppy drive and insert the Toshiba Special Enhancements Disk.
2From the MS-DOS prompt, type a:setup and press Enter.
Setup copies the Toshiba MS-DOS enhancement files onto your hard drive.
