The information contained here in is from testing 3 different configurations; with the T6600 with the Mambo card using Windows for workgroups, and it's peer to peer capabilities. When installing Windows for Workgroups on the T6600 you should remember that the Mambo card emulates the Novell NE2100 Ethernet adapter. You should also find out if the T6600 will be running Novell 3.11 or above with Windows for Workgroups and its peer to peer capabilities or if it will be running just the Windows for Workgroups networking Capabilities only.
This is the configuration if you plan on running Windows for Workgroups with Novell ONLY...
1) Load your Netware Shell(your net.bat executed).
2) Start Windows from the C:\>
NOTE IF YOU HAD TRIED TO LOAD A NETWORK DRIVER AND CANNOT RE-ENTER WINDOWS
BY TYPING WIN, TYPE WIN /N (this will bypass any network drivers and any network functions)
3) Once into the Windows Program Manager, go to the Network Group Icon and Double click.
4) From within the Network Group click on Network Setup Icon, this will give you the NETWORK SETUP
SCREEN.
5) At the Network setup screen click on Networks...
6) In the Networks Screen go to the last option on this screen and click in the circle that gives you the
option: Install Windows support for the following network only:
7) The dialog box with the scrolling arrows pops up so you may select the appropriate Network in this case
NOVELL NETWARE (Workstation Shell 3.X) or NOVELL NETWARE (Workstation Shell 4.0 and above)
8) Once you selected the appropriate option, click on ok.
9) You will then be prompted to insert disks for the appropriate drivers that WFWG requires.
10)After this is completed. Restart Windows
11)Your Windows For Workgroups now supports the Novell Networking Capabilities.
This is the configuration if you plan on running Windows for Workgroups with it's peer to peer capabilities ONLY...
1) Start Windows from the C:\>
NOTE IF YOU HAD TRIED TO LOAD A NETWORK DRIVER AND CANNOT RE-ENTER WINDOWS
BY TYPING WIN, TYPE WIN /N (this will bypass any network drivers and any network functions)
2) Once into the Windows Program Manager, go to the Network Group Icon and Double click.
3) From within the Network Group click on Network Setup Icon, this will give you the NETWORK SETUP
SCREEN.
4) At the Network setup screen click on Networks...
5) Click on Install Microsoft Windows Network and No additional network.
6) Click on drivers
7) Click on add Adapter
8) Scroll down to "Novell/Anthem NE2100
9) Setup will ask you to confirm IRQ setting, this should be 5 (if not change it to 5).
10)Setup will ask you to confirm Base I/O Port, this should be 320 (if it is not change it to 320).
11)Setup will ask you to confirm DMA Value, this should be at 5 (if not change it to 5).
12)Once back at Network Setup Screen Highlight IPX/SPX compatible Transport with NetBios, and click on
the Set as Default Radio Button.
13)Now click on Setup Button and confirm your IRQ is "5", your Base I/O Port is 320, and make sure your
driver type is Real Mode and Enhanced Mode NDIS Driver, if it is not make the necessary changes.
14)Now you will click on OK, then on Close, then on OK again.
15)You will then be prompted to insert disks for the appropriate drivers that WFWG requires.
16)After this is completed, Restart your computer, Then Restart Windows.
17)You now have Workgroups for Windows Peer to Peer support only.
This is the configuration if you plan on running Windows for Workgroups with Novell Netware
& Workgroups peer to peer capabilities...
1) Load your Netware Shell(your net.bat executed).
2) Start Windows from the C:\>

BY TYPING WIN, TYPE WIN /N (this will bypass any network drivers and any network functions)
3) Once into the Windows Program Manager, go to the Network Group Icon and Double click.
4) From within the Network Group click on Network Setup Icon, this will give you the NETWORK SETUP
SCREEN.
5) Click on Networks
6) Then click on the install Microsoft Windows Network.
7) And then click on Other, under the section that reads "You can also install Windows support for an
additional network".
8) Scroll through to Novell Netware (workstation shell X.X) and select this option.
9) A dialog box asks you to choose Novell Netware drivers you use, the default is "IPXODI.COM AND LSL.COM", if this is how you start your Novell Workstation select this option, if not the other selection is IPX.COM.
10)Click on ok.
11)Next click on Drivers.
12)Then click on Adapter.
13)Then scroll through to "Novell/Anthem NE2100" and Highlight this one and click on ok.
14)Once back in the Network Drivers Windows Highlight IPX/SPX Compatible transport with NetBios,
and click on Set as Default Radio Button.
15)Click on close
16)Click on OK
17)You will then be prompted to insert disks for the appropriate drivers that WFWG requires.
18)After you have done this, Windows for Workgroups Modifies your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT.
In your CONFIG.SYS, WFWG's changes your lastdrive. You should change it back to the original
setting, WFWG's also add's the following lines to your AUTOEXEC.BAT:
c:\windows\net start
c:\windows\odihlp.exe
These lines should be removed and put into a network startup Batch file. Here is a sample:

19)After this is completed restart your system and restart your network in a batch file or at the command
line in the order above.
