Follow these instructions to install the IBM Token Ring PCMCIA card in a Toshiba notebook with a PCMCIA slot. This has been tested successfully on a T1950CT. Please ensure that the PCMCIA slot is set to PCMCIA in TSETUP. Insert the PCMCIA Token Ring card in Slot 1.
1.Download Token Ring installation PCMCIA file (TRENG200.EXE - version and filename subject to change) from the Toshiba America BBS (714) 837-4408
2.Using this diskette, run autoexec.bat to determine the Universally Administered Address.
IE "10005AFC0EE1".
3.Download OS/2 PCMCIA drivers - OS2PCM.ZIP. Use the PKUNZIP utility to unzip the files
to a diskette.
4.From an OS/2 command prompt, type A: INSTALL
5.Install the Novell Netware Requester for OS/2
Type "INSTALL"
Select "Installation"
Select "Requester on Workstation"
Target Directory "D:\NETWARE"
Select "Edit Config.sys and copy all files..."
Select "TOKEN.SYS" as the ODI driver
Select "IPX Support for DOS and Windows = ON"
Choose "Global Netware Shell Support"
Choose "SPX"
Choose "NetBIOS Emulation for OS/2 Sessions"
Then "Save changes to CONFIG.SYS"
Then "Default ODI LAN DRIVER, TOKEN.SYS, Copy only the default driver"
Then "Copy Requester Files"
- The files will be copied in the appropriate directories. The
config.sys will be modified.
6.**** DO NOT REBOOT ****
7.At an OS/2 Full Session, Insert the IBM Token Ring PCMCIA Installation diskette.
Copy a:ODI2NDI.* C:\OS2 (This will copy two files)
Type "INSTALL".
8.Choose "Install IBM TR 16/4 Credit Card Files for Novell (OS/2)".
9.Modify the PROTOCOL.INI to update the Token Ring's UAA.
- CD D:\IBCOM
- E PROTOCOL.INI
- Modify the "Netaddress =" to 10005AFC0EE1
11.Reboot the computer.
12.Type "Login" and enter your name and password.
